Description	Series I, Microfilm Reel 26 of The Papers of Lew and Susan Wallace contains professional and personal correspondence, and other papers dating from May 1, 1889 - July 29, 1893. Lew Wallace was working on his novel The Prince of India; or, Why Constantinople Fell, which was published by Harper & Brothers in 1893. Wallace's other pursuits included inventing railroad equipment, serving on the Board of Visitors for the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), negotiating dramatization deals for Ben-Hur, giving interviews and writing essays, and writing song lyrics for published sheet music "Wake Not, But Hear Me Love." Wallace's patents, reports, interviews, sheet music, and other materials related to his activities are included in this microfilm reel. Notable correspondents in this reel include President Benjamin Harrison, Mavroyeni Bey, Elijah W. Halford, Meredith Nicholson, Harper & Brothers publishers, and Henry Lane Wallace.
