Built in 1831, Elmhurst mansion has had many roles. The estate near Connersville was home to political leaders, a station on the underground railroad, a sanatorium, an exclusive girls’ school, a military institute, and a Masonic lodge. This view shows the mansion when it was the Elmhurst School for Girls. |
