Description |
During their stay in Germany, the Steeles lived first in Munich. There he studied drawing and painting at the Royal Academy and worked independently at landscape painting. Leisure time was spent traveling visiting galleries, museums, and churches. Later the family made the picturesque village of Schleissheim their home after discovering it on a trip through the countryside. Steele’s last year at the Academy was deemed a success with a first prize award for his painting “The Boatman.” |
