Description |
Days after his second marriage in 1928, Allison died at Riverdale from bronchial pneumonia at the age of 55. He is buried at Crown Hill Cemetery. In 1929, Allison Engineering Company was sold to General Motors. Present day descendants of the company are Allison Transmission and the aircraft engine division of Rolls-Royce. Other companies include Allison Payment Systems, descendant of Allison Coupon Company, and the world-renowned Indianapolis Motor Speedway. |
