Emily Kimbrough was born into one of the most prominent families in Muncie history at the turn of the century. Her grandfather, Charles M. Kimbrough, moved to Muncie from Ohio and became president of the Indiana Bridge Company. The prosperity of the family afforded Emily many opportunities in education and travel that influenced her life and shaped her career as a writer and speaker. Among her childhood friends was Elisabeth Ball of the glass- manufacturing Ball family. |
