Dear Mr. Stuart: Your favor of the 17th instant with reference to aiding the Forestry Association is received. I most heartily thank you for what you have done and for your willingness to aid us in the future. We shall be very happy indeed to have your continued support. I am gratified at the interest people are taking in the matter. We are, of course, in the preliminary stages at the moment; in fact, we are now seeking to secure an executive officer who will be able to help in systematizing and pushing the work. We expect a gentleman connected with the Forestry Service in Washington in a day or two to discuss the question as to whether he is free to take up work for us. This, until something definitely is determined, is a matter to be held in confidence. Faithfully yours, [signed] Charles W. Fairbanks
