Atlas map of Fountain County, 1876. Formed out of land from Montgomery and Wabash Counties in 1825, Fountain County was named for Major James Fountain, a Kentuckian killed at the Battle of Maumee in 1790. The Wabash River forms the county's northern and western boundaries. |
