Description |
Charles S. Lewis, banker and real estate developer, dreamed of an ideal community for homeowners, an oasis outside the quickly growing city of Indianapolis. His dream was called Brendonwood. Located on Military Drive (now 56th Street) and Fall Creek Parkway, he envisioned a private neighborhood with stunning landscapes, nature abounding, and recreation for the whole family. He began purchasing land in 1914 and by 1917, had laid out 110 plots that encompassed 350 acres. |
