Description
This image was taken of J. Ottis Adam's children on artist Julia Graydon Sharpe's trip to visit J. Ottis Adams at the Hermitage in Brooksville , Indiana . She stayed at the Hermitage to study from Adams before moving on to Brown County . Born in Indianapolis , Julia Graydon Sharpe studied music and art at private schools and the Indiana School of Art . She later joined the Art Students League in New York and studied with leading artists of the day . After returning to Indianapolis she continued to study and paint . She was a student of William Forsyth and J. Ottis Adams . Sharpe never married and was active socially and in charity work .
