Description |
The Oliver P. Morton monument stands outside of the Indiana State Capitol building where W. Market Street meets Capitol Avenue. A statue of Morton, known as Indiana's Civil War Governor, stands flanked by two Union soldiers. The monument was commissioned by the Indiana General Assembly in 1906 and installed in 1907. |

The Carpenter family lived at 926 West Drive, Woodruff Place in Indianapolis. Walter was an amateur photographer who documented his family at home and on vacations as well as many events and buildings in Indianapolis. |
