Quaker
Maid
was a
food
processing
plant
in
Terre
Haute.
In
1930
the
original
plant
opened
but
within
a
decade
demands
were
exceeding
their
capacity
and an
addition
to the
facility
was
needed.
In
1953
,
another
expansion
was
completed.
This
photo
of
women
bottling
French
Dressing
in
1940
shows
the
type
of
industrial
jobs
women
worked
in
prior
to
WWII.
