	Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Monument Circle Title Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Monument Circle Owning Institution Indiana Historical Society Item ID P0130_BOX39_FOLDER7_286321 Description The monument has a wide base with statuary on it. On top is a bronze statue of a woman. In her right hand is a sword; in her left a torch. A small eagle is perched on her head. Oversized candelabra are near the steps to the monument and four more are near the sidewalks. Statues are mounted on pedestals at each of the grassy quadrants.
