DescriptionThe largest Slovenian community in the state was in Haughville, located on the west side of Indianapolis. Companies such as National Malleable Castings Company, which opened in 1882 and was located at Michigan Street and Holmes Avenue, recruited labor in Europe. The factory was closed in 1962.
