	World's Largest Piano Recital Title World's Largest Piano Recital Owning Institution Indiana Historical Society Item ID P0130_BOX25_FOLDER3_234575F Description To open National Music Week in May 1936, Sigma Alpha Iota, the national professional music sorority, sponsored a grand piano recital. A total of 125 pianos were brought to the fieldhouse where 825 pianists played a variety of songs and accompanied the combined choirs of Butler University and the Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music. There were 8, 250 fingers playing in the largest piano recital held to date.
