Many advertisements include the number of steps a Hoosier cabinet would save a woman. Not only would a women save energy by reducing the number of steps, she would also save time and hassle. In fact, with a Hoosier cabinet, as seen in this 1914 catalog, a woman could do most of her baking sitting down.
