DescriptionThe Grand Republic was bult at Shousetown, Pennsylvania in 1867. In 1876 she set a record for cargo: 8, 210 bales of cotton, 525 sacks of cotton seed, 872 sacks of oil cake, 400 sacks of meal, and 350 barrels of oil. The ship caught fire while at St. Louis in 1877, and was lost.
