DescriptionIn March of 1865 Congress established the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers. This Central Branch of the National Home was located near Dayton, Ohio. The hospital was dedicated in 1870. The men living there were offered recreational and intellectual activities. In 1930 the home was consolidated into the Veterans Administration.
