Notable ForAlbert Von Tilzer's real name was Albert Gumm. He and his brother used their mother's maiden name, Tilzer. He was born in Indianapolis and worked in the family's business. In 1899 he moved to Chicago and worked as a staff pianist and song plugger at his brother's company Shapiro, Bernstein, and Von Tilzer. In 1903 he moved to New York City and started his own music publishing business. He was also a vaudeville performer. In 1908 he wrote the song "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." He moved to Hollywood, California in 1930 and wrote music for movies.
