	Marie Webster Name Marie Webster Birth/Death Dates 1859-1956 Where in Indiana Wabash County--Wabash ; Grant County--Marion When in Indiana 1859-1940s Notable For Webster was one of the most influential quilt designers of the twentieth century. Her book, "Quilts: Their Story and How to Make Them" published in 1915, was the first book wrritten on the history of quilting. She ran a successful quilt pattern business from her home in Marion, Indiana, and toured the country giving lectures on quilting. Her home in Marion has been restored and is on the National Historic Register. Description Webster is wearing a high necked lace blouse and long skirt. A white fur is draped across her shoulders.
