Notable ForRev. Hesburgh is president emeritus of Notre Dame University. He is a national leader in the field of education. During his career he has served on numerous commissions, was chairman of the International Federation of Catholic Universities, has received 15 presidential appointments, and has served four Popes. He is the recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal and the Medal of Freedom.
