Notable ForBayh graduated from Indiana University Law School in 1960 and was admitted to the bar in 1961. He was in the Indiana State House of Representatives from 1954-1962. In 1961 he was elected to the U.S. Senate and served from 1963-1981. He was instrumental in the passage of the 25th amendment to the constitution which sets presidential disability and succession.
