The Indianapolis News discovered her work and she began writing another column, "The Country Contributor" for them from 1903-1918. Edward W. Bok, editor of "Ladies Home Journal" offered her a job writing for that magazine. As a result she began writing a third column, "The Ideas of a Plain Country Woman."
