When in IndianaForsyth's family moved from Ohio to Indiana when he was a teenager. He lived there most of his life.
Notable ForForsyth studied art at the Royal Academy of Munich. When he returned to Indiana he taught with other artists and eventually joined the staff at Herron Art School. Forsyth enjoyed painting Hoosier landscapes and supervised the City Hospital project where artists painted murals for the hospital.
