Notable ForA NASA astronaut, Dr. Wolf is a graduate of North Central High School in Indianapolis. He earned an engineering degree from Purdue University and a medical degree from Indiana University. In 1983, he joined the medical sciences division of the Johnson Space Center, serving as chief engineer on the international space station's medical facility. He was chosen as an astronaut in 1990, and made his first Space Shuttle flight in 1993. He served four months on the Russian space station Mir in 1997-1998. Wolf has received 11 U.S. patents and logged more than 2,000 hours of Air Force flight time, including combat training on the F4 Phantom Jet.
