DescriptionFloyd Hopper's studies at Herron began when the building was brand new and had approximately 100 students, most from Indianapolis. At first he signed up for commercial art, but later switched to fine arts. Between studies he waited tables at the Colonial Tea Room at 14th and Pennsylvania Streets. He earned $15/week in tips and received free meals. Hazel Whiteleather was a regular dinner customer there and in 1936 they married.
