NotesEstablished in 1814, Switzerland County is bordered on the east and south by the Ohio River. Named by its French-Swiss settlers, it is one of the most picturesque sections of Indiana with rolling hills and an unspoiled rural charm that has remained because no railroads or giant industries have penetrated its boundaries.
