	Heuy Helicopters Title Heuy Helicopters Owning Institution Indiana Historical Society Item ID M0879_DVD_113_19 Description The first Heuy (HU-1) helicopters were developed for medical evacuations and were used in Vietnam beginning in April 1962. In October that year armed Heuys were introduced there escorting transport helicopters. The Heuy was continually upgraded and eventually was used to insert troops deep into enemy territory.
